The 22nd Nariz de Oro (Golden Nose) competition was held in Madrid on Tuesday 15th January. This competition rewards sommeliers who can recognise a wine in a black cup, using only his or her sense of smell. More than 40 sommeliers took part in this competition, tasting more than 40 wines in a blind tasting.
Through their scores, wine professionals chose the Care Grenache Syrah as one the best red wines aged for less than nine months. This means the jewel in the Bodegas Añadas crown has qualified for the National Final for the Best Spanish Wines, which will be held in Madrid on 14 and 15 June.
A total of 16 wines were selected in seven categories (fortified, sparkling, white, rosé, red aged for less than nine months, red aged for more than nine months, and sweet).
